And here at The Wine Connection, we’ve been doing what we do best… hunting down those little wine bargains that are just too good to leave behind!

This years Halloween parties, we’ve found something rather wicked…

DANCE WITH THE DEVIL

A seriously intriguing Spanish red with a seriously good story behind it.

This was an exclusive own-label wine created for the legendary Iceberg Lounge, produced by the highly regarded Tomàs Cusiné in Costers del Segre, Spain.

The 2018 vintage was on the Park Row wine list at £52 a bottle!

But somehow, we’ve managed to get our hands on it at a price that’s a whole lot less frightening!

Expect rich dark fruits, spice, savoury complexity and plenty of character. A proper Spanish red with depth and personality, the sort of bottle that makes you want to pour another glass.

And the name?

If it sounds familiar, there’s a reason…

The phrase was made famous by Jack Nicholson’s Joker in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman, when he asks Bruce Wayne: “Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?”

It gets even better. Prince originally recorded a track called “Dance With The Devil” for the Batman soundtrack, inspired by the film and featuring dialogue from the Joker. Prince ultimately thought the track was too dark, and it was replaced by “Batdance” on the finished soundtrack.

So, there’s your Halloween connection!

A devilish name, a Batman story, a restaurant own-label with a fascinating history — and a cracking Spanish red inside the bottle.
